If you already know your dog's boot size, click:

If you DO NOT know your pet's boot size, we will help!  Select either the front or back paw (below)
& we will determine the correct size:

STEP 1: Measure the width & length of paw.

Have your dog stand full weight bearing on a piece of white paper. Trace the paw as accurately as possible. Trace around the nails and only the part of the main paw pad that contacts the paper. Now measure the width of the tracing at the widest point and the length of the tracing at the longest point.

STEP 2: Measure the paw circumference.

Take the paw circumference measurement. Have your dog stand full weight bearing ON the tape measure. Then measure up over and around the entire paw at the widest point. In Greyhound and some other breeds this area will be over their high knuckles. See photo below.

STEP 3: Measure the circumference for the front wrist.

Measure the TOTAL circumference of your dogs ankle. Photo below shows this measurement on the front leg. (figure A)
On the hind leg take this measurement 2”- 3" above the paw. (figure B)

STEP 4: Measure the wrist height.

The wrist height (foreleg) or tarsal height (hind leg). On the foreleg (again full weight bearing) measure from the ground behind the main paw pad to below the carpal pad. On the hind leg measure from the ground behind the main paw pad to about 1” below the tarsal (hock ) joint.

  • Outdoor paw protection and comfort

  • Paw and paw pad cuts, wounds, or burns

  • Arthritis of toes

  • Calluses, corns, warts, and cysts between toes

  • Toe dislocation / deviation / amputation

  • Toe strains / sprains

  • Comforts painful paws

  • Protects against outdoor irritants such as salt & hot pavement

  • Acts as a great alternative to paw bandages

For pets that knuckle or drag their paws, we recommend a Forelimb Dorsi-Flex Assist or Hindlimb Dorsi-Flex Assist.

For pets with short paws - short digits where paw width and length measurements are similar (e.g., boxers, great danes), you may want to consider a differently-shaped boot like Neopaws

For outdoor use only. Thera-Paw Boots provide protection & comfort for dogs with injured and/or painful paws. Features include:

  • thick, padded, cushioned inner sole

  • durable, thick, rubber outer base

  • seamless interior for comfortable, non-irritating fit

  • dual cuff closure system secures boot in place

Why shouldn't my dog wear boots inside?  Dogs sweat through their paw pads (not their skin or coats). Their paws need to breathe.  Covering their paws with a dog bootie (including the Thera-Paw Boot) will not allow the pet's paw to breathe properly. Covering a pet's paw with a bootie for more than a few hours can lead to:

  • moisture build-up around the paw

  • chafing, abrasions, skin breakdown

  • infection

If your pet will mostly use paw protection indoors, we recommend a Cushy-Paw Slipper instead.

Slippers allow the paw to breathe and can be left on throughout the day while the pet is indoors. Slippers are padded and will protect and comfort your pet's paw.

Can be customized for optimal fit. Thera-Paw Boot should fit snugly on the paw, and around the wrist or ankle.  Top cuff of the boot should sit below the joint (bend) of the wrist or ankle.
